As Steve Jobs put into production the new Apple Ipad it is likely
that very little consideration had been made for how this product
could change the home automation control industry. Understand that
this little tablet is completely useless on its own. Without great
programming and interface design your best use of the Ipad will be
games, the internet, and photos. However, if jmplemented correctly,
you will experience a whole new level of portable control. |

The
first thing you will notice is stunning graphics. A native resolution
of 1024 x 768 coupled with a glass screen make every button, text
line, and image pop off the panel. Next up; portablility and battery
life. As wireless panels have evloved our achilles heel has been the
stability of the wireless connection and the battery life of the panels.
In fact, over the last four years 95% of our call backs have been
wireless touch panel related. The Ipad will roam and connect to any
available network without issue. A fully charged battery has no problem
making it through the day without finding it's way to a charger. |

not support flash content. This is a minor inconvience noticed when
browsing some websites. |

Everyone!
Our first thought was clients in the retro market would be the best
fit but we have implemented several of these in new installs with
great success. As touch panel technology has progressed graphics,
cost, and available real estsate within the home have been determining
factors in the selection of multiple sized panels. Almost al of the
touch panels have a different native resolution. This by itself creates
incoseitencies in operation and in turn can effect the the overall
customer experience. All Ipads have the same resolution and that removes
consistency issues.
The other major factor in this equation is design time. Designing
for multiple interfaces take more time and cost the end user more
money. Since the Ipad interface loads from the processor any update
made to one Ipad is reflected on all Ipads. Now you are getting the
most bang for your buck. |
